Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have had their attention caught today by reports that one of their youngsters could move to the Bundesliga.
Foot Mercato state that Borussia Dortmund have made a late offer to land Chelsea forward Bertrand Traore on-loan, with the Bundesliga giants looking to bring the 20-year-old to the club on an 18-month deal.
Interest in Traore, who scored 17 goals in 36 appearances for Vitesse Arnheim last season, is extremely high as it was previously reported that both Marseille and Hamburg had submitted offers– whilst Vitesse are keen to bring the striker to the club for a second spell.
The Burkina Faso international is likely to leave this month as he’s made just four appearances for Chelsea this season, continuously being overlooked despite the Blues’ struggles in front of goal.
Chelsea do rate the player highly though and are unlikely to accept a permanent departure but an 18-month stint at one of Europe’s biggest clubs would do the player a world of good, with Dortmund currently chasing Bayern Munich in pursuit of the German league crown.
Our landlord isn’t convinced he’d get more regular first-team football there though and believes offers from other sides in Europe should be heavily considered.
Chelsea fans, will Traore be a star at your club in the future? Let us know in the comments below!
