Manchester United supporters are already expecting one heavy defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich as the two heavyweights meet in their Champions League quarter-final next week.
But now Spanish daily newspaper AS is claiming that Pep Guardiola is plotting to beat United to one of their prime summer transfer targets.
Under pressure Red Devils boss David Moyes has been strongly linked with Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke, who could leave the La Liga high-flyers in the summer.
However today’s speculation indicates that the Bundesliga champions will provide tough competition for the 22-year-old Spaniard as Pep looks to sign the player dubbed ‘the next Xavi’.
Koke has a 60 million euro buy out clause in his existing contract and after defeating Moyes to Barcelona starlet Thiago Alcantara last summer, Guardiola could be ready to move ahead of the Manchester club again.
Here in the tavern we reckon that a switch to the reigning European champions would be more attractive than a switch to Old Trafford which is likely to come without Champions League football
Where do you think Koke will be heading during the summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
