Talk about drama here in the Football Transfer Tavern – today has been a cracker and the latest story from the Daily Express has claimed that Newcastle Uniteds’ Papiss Cisse could well be a target for Borussia Dortmund.
The club are more than a little bit concerned about paying the price given their recent successes (and star men being poached!) and after seeing Mario Gotze agree to join Bayern Munich the club are attempting to formulate a back up plan should star forward and the player who put four past Real Madrid, Robert Lewandowski leave the club as well. After seeing Demba Ba depart for Chelsea in January, it remains to be seen just how well Alan Pardew and Newcastle will take the latest move for one of their top players.
Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund have decided that Papiss Cisse could well be that man and in news that will panic Magpies fans, the Senegalese international has previously been a revelation in the Bundesliga during his time with Freiburg. Whilst Cisse is settled at Newcastle it seems that a move to the Bundesliga and to a club with the potential of Dortmund not to mention the chance of working with a manager such as Klopp may prove too much to resist.
