Last night’s Champions League draw in Ukraine has been viewed favourably by Manchester United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern given their poor start to the season.
However it is pointed out that it probably goes someway to show how their expectations have already fallen after the arrival of David Moyes during the summer.
Metro now report that Bundesliga side Borusssia Dortmund are now plotting a move to re-sign Manchester United’s Shinji Kagawa as he struggles for game time at Old Trafford.
The Japanese midfielder only departed Dortmund to join Sir Alex Ferguson’s side last season after helping Jurgen Klopp’s team to unprecedented back to back Bundesliga titles.
But despite a start that promised a lot, the 24-year-old has already found himself a bit-part player under the former Everton boss, and is now reportedly thinking about leaving the Old Trafford club.
Kagawa informed reporters that he was ‘fighting for his life’ at Old Trafford and it’s understood that if he fails to gain a regular starting berth by the New Year, he will look for a transfer despite his contract lasting until 2015.
His former side Dortmund are believed to be leading the race, with Klopp making Kagawa his main transfer target in January after their fans started a ‘bring back Kagawa’ campaign.
United will be looking for around £15 million for his services, but given his current role, a fee of around £10 million could be acceptable as the attacking midfielder looks for a fresh start.
Does Kagawa deserve another chance to prove himself at Old Trafford or is it time to offload the midfielder? Let us know your thoughts below.
