Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are starting to feel aggrieved that the majority of deals being reported about their club are outgoing, with the fans by the pool table furious no important signings have been made.
The latest player set to depart Stamford Bridge this month is Papy Djilobodji, as The Guardian report talks concerning a loan deal that would take the Senegalese international to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen are being held.
27-year-old Djilobodji was a surprise deadline-day recruit for the Blues but he’s proved to be a major flop, playing just one minute this season after making a late substitute appearance in the Capital One Cup clash with Walsall.
Djilobodji is now set for a swift departure from West London, as Bremen’s chief executive Thomas Eichin confirmed that talks are underway– but, as of yet, there’s been no official comment from Premier League strugglers Chelsea.
Our punters are concerned with the vast numbers of transfer failures from Chelsea in recent years, with Mohamed Salah, Filipe Luis and Juan Cuadrado all finding their way out of the club swiftly after their arrival.
