Burnley could be the best home for Newcastle United flop to finally develop

Burnley are flying high in the top half of the Premier League this season, with manager Sean Dyche’s side platform for success built upon their wonderful defensive record.

The Clarets boast the fourth best record at the back having conceded just twenty goals this season, a record that has seen them climb to seventh-place in the table. Fans here in The Transfer Tavern can barely believe what their side have achieved this season, and there is a genuine belief around Turf Moor that a solid run of results could see the Lancashire side break into the top six this semester. Our landlord caught up with fans over a couple of pints to discuss the season so far, and talk about where the club must strengthen this month. Defensively they are in fine form, but fans here remain keen upon adding further quality and depth to the defensive unit.

With reports suggesting that Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is desperately trying to offload 23-year-old dender Chancel Mbemba, Burnley fans are eyeing up a bargain, and feel that the Congolese international could prove to be the perfect addition to their squad. Mbemba has been treated harshly at Newcastle, and when played in his favoured left-back position this season, the player has been sensational. However Rafa is looking to cash in, and Dyche must move to ensure that he is the lucky beneficiary of Newcastle’s possible mistake.

Mbemba has bags of potential, and still of such a young age, Dyche can craft the player into exactly what he wants him to be. If Burnley pull this one off for a basement price, then this could prove to be one of the deals of the window.
