Burnley are looking in good nick once again going into the new Premier League season, and completed the signing of Middlesbrough star Ben Gibson earlier today to further bolster their ranks.

The Clarets and manager Sean Dyche deserve a whole host of credit for building a team capable of challenging in the Premier League, and it remains to be seen if they can continue to replicate their excellent form.

Indeed, we at the Tavern think Burnley can continue to add quality, and one player we think they should look to sign is Manchester City starlet Patrick Roberts.

The impressive young attacking midfielder was a key member of the Celtic squad once again last term, showing signs of real quality and looking every bit like being able to turn himself into a regular Premier League player in the long run.

However, first team chances at City are likely to be at a premium, and a move to someone like Burnley where he would get regular football could really benefit Roberts in the long run.

Quick, good with the ball, and with an eye for goal, Roberts would be a superb signing for the Clarets, and by getting a season of Premier League football firmly under his belt, it might just be the career boost he needs at this stage.

Burnley fans, what do you think? Would you take Roberts? Good signing? Let us know!
