Burnley fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited with the Clarets on the verge of securing European football for the first time since 1967.

Sean Dyche has put his side in prime position to qualify for the Europa League next season. The Clarets sit seventh in the Premier League table, six points ahead of Everton with just two games remaining. Indeed, those from Turf Moor may also have an eye on Arsenal in sixth - the two sides will lock horns at the weekend.

Their achievements are even more impressive considering they will end the season with a positive net spend following the departures of Michael Keane and Andre Gray in the summer. Still, while it's worth celebrating their wonderful campaign, Dyche will surely be looking to improve. So, with just 24 league goals between the trio of Ashley Barnes, Chris Wood and Sam Vokes – more goals are needed if Burnley are to compete in Europe.

To that end, the answer could be Sporting Lisbon striker – Bas Dost. The Dutch striker has enjoyed another fantastic campaign in Portugal, netting 26 goals in 28 appearances. He is valued at £17.1m by Transfermarkt and could represent a wonderful addition to a side only a top striker away from becoming a genuine threat in the Europa League. Indeed, the 28-year-old is a world-class finisher and recently ended an extraordinary run of 64 first-time finishes.

Premier League clubs in the past have failed to land Dost’s signature, but the offer of European football at Turf Moor could give Burnley a huge advantage. He would add much-needed goals to the side and could fire the Clarets to glory on the European stage next year.

Burnley fans, would you be happy with Bas Dost leading the line next year? Let us know!
