The Burnley fans are competing in a darts tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening and discussing reports linking their goalkeeper with a shock international call up.
The Lancashire Telegraph is reporting that Burnley captain Tom Heaton has been called up to the England squad for the forthcoming international friendlies against Germany and Holland.
England were in need of another goalkeeper following an injury sustained by England number one Joe Hart in yesterday’s Manchester derby ruled him out for a month.
With England only having Fraser Forster and Jack Butland available the impressive Burnley keeper has got the nod.
The 29 year old had been a feature in recent England squads but was left out of the latest squad named by in favour of Forster who is now fully fit after injury.
