Burnley are hoping that whatever the outcome of their Europa League adventures that they still enjoy a strong Premier League campaign.
Having had the tricky task of balancing Thursday night and Sunday afternoon games, Sean Dyche is already well aware of the detrimental effect that could have on his players.
With a thin squad as it is, it seems vital now that Burnley brought in Joe Hart, to replace the injured duo Nick Pope and Tom Heaton.
The Englishman has endured a turbulent football career, especially in the last few seasons. After struggling massively when at Torino and West Ham, Hart has now found a lifeline with Burnley and what a move it looks to be for both parties.
Hart, 31 has been an important factor in keeping the opposition at bay and their goals conceded down. His early form in the claret and blue of Burnley could even see him earn his place back with the England set-up, at the expense of fellow Burnley shot-stopper Tom Heaton.
Heaton, who is valued at £3.6 million on Transfermarkt, only managed four appearances last season after sustaining a serious injury that has continued to rule him out of action. His presence in goal for Burnley was vital for a number of seasons but after Nick Pope forced himself ahead of Heaton and now Hart is doing the same, his time in-between the sticks for the Clarets could be over.
The 32-year-old was one of a number of ‘keepers that had got ahead of Joe Hart in the England pecking order but the former Man City man’s form so far for Burnley has shown that a re-call to the England set-up might not be a long shot anymore.
