Bye Hazard: It’s time for Chelsea to cash-in on Belgian in favour of £45m-rated attacker

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned about the future of Eden Hazard. Reports over the last week have indicated that he could be willing to quit the club this summer, and that’s left a lot of fans feeling very worried.

After all, it’s fair to say that Hazard is Chelsea’s most important player. He’s the focal point of the attack, not to mention the fact that he’s undoubtedly their highest profile player.

However, in light of the recent reports, our landlord thinks that it might be time to cash in on him.

After all, the last thing that Antonio Conte needs right now is further discontent. There is undoubtedly frustration in the boardroom, given the results, and fans aren’t happy either. If Hazard is in a position where he doesn’t feel happy at the club anymore, it might be time to move him on.

Furthermore, you also have to consider the huge transfer fee that he would demand. He’s a key figure, both on the pitch and as a marketing asset off of it, and so Chelsea would likely be looking at receiving something like a world-record fee if they were to sell him.

However, whilst a move makes sense, it should only come on one condition. Chelsea need to ensure that a replacement comes back their way. Fortunately, Real Madrid’s squad is littered with talent of a similar ilk, and Marco Asensio could be a perfect choice.

Rated at £45 million by Transfer Markt, the Spaniard is an attacking magician. He posses incredible technical ability, brilliant passing and fantastic dribbling – whilst he also has a solid goal threat.

At 22-years-old, the attacker has the potential to be every bit as good as Eden Hazard, and at this point, a swap between the two makes perfect sense. Chelsea will need a replacement, and if Hazard were to move to Spain, Ascensio could lose his spot in the team. Able to play across the midfield, Asensio dazzles with his technical skill, and he’s often able to produce incredible chances and opportunities out of nowhere.

For Chelsea, then, this could be their smartest trade in years.
