Chelsea fans here in the Tavern will be praying that their side can bring in a world-class player this summer, as they’ll be looking to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
The Blues missed out on Champions League football this season after failing to force a positive result against Newcastle United, as Liverpool took fourth place after winning at home against Brighton and Hove Albion.
So, if Chelsea want to challenge for silverware next season, they’ll need to bring a number of players in this summer as they failed to meet expectations and couldn’t ensure consistency.
Indeed, the club should start by offloading Alvaro Morata, as it’s understood that his former club Juventus are targeting a reunion this summer. Sadly, the Spaniard failed to live up to expectations as the Blues are still searching for Diego Costa’s replacement, so the club may need to splash the cash to bring in a prolific striker this summer.
Therefore, Chelsea must sign this star to finally replace Diego Costa…
The 29-year-old is valued at £81 million (by Transfermarkt), having established himself as one of Europe’s deadliest strikers, but he would not come cheap if he moves this summer.
However, it’s becoming increasingly clear that the Blues need a striker with a proven track record, as things haven’t exactly worked out for Alvaro Morata since he moved to Stamford Bridge last summer.
Indeed, the Bayern Munich striker will guarantee you goals on a consistent basis as he managed to score 40 goals in all competitions this season, which would be perfect for Chelsea in the next campaign.
