Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still trying to get over the 2-0 defeat to Spurs on Wednesday night.
The whole performance was dire from start to finish for the Red Devils in the bar, amidst the seven-minute cameo from Marouane Fellaini and the poor defending was a touchline disagreement between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba. It followed the French star to be dragged off for the first time this season in such a situation.
Pogba’s performance wasn’t up there with his greatest and it summed up United’s whole match against a Spurs side who looked up for it and rampant. The Frenchman, by and large, has been one of United’s best performers this season but like some of our regulars have noticed, he also often goes missing in matches.
Mourinho wants to get the best out of Pogba but playing him in a two-man midfield is not the way to do so and if the arrival of Alexis Sanchez is going to restrict the Frenchman, then United will have serious problems on their hands.
