Cahill out: 92% of Chelsea fans want £33.2m-rated ace to replace him this summer

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been frustrated with Gary Cahill’s recent form. The Englishman has struggled to return to the form of his pomp under Antonio Conte, and that’s a problem.

Indeed, it’s left some fans questioning his future.

We recently made the case that Roma defender Kostas Manolas would be the perfect replacement for Cahill, given that he’s apparently available for €38 million (£33.2 million).

Arrival of £33.2m-rated defender would finally end Cahill’s career at Chelsea – agreed?

This is something that fans agree with too, it seems.

We asked Chelsea supporters whether Manolas would be a good replacement for Cahill, and a whopping 92% of the fans that responded said that he would.

It’s easy to see why, given just how influential he has been over the years.

Roma have been an increasingly efficient outfit over the past few seasons, and Chelsea felt that first-hand last term in the Champions League. Manolas has been a crucial part of their team, offering fantastic quality in the air and brilliant ability with his feet.

A move to Chelsea would also allow him to link up with former Roma ace Antonio Rudiger – and so a move makes perfect sense for the Blues.

Fans would love to see him at Stamford Bridge, and it’s clear that he would be a good fit.
