Liverpool: Reds have bid accepted for Calum Scanlon

Liverpool have had a bid accepted for highly-rated winger Calum Scanlon, according to reports.
Scanlon to Merseyside?
Chris Bascombe of The Telegraph revealed that the 15-year-old and his family are currently considering whether to make a move to Liverpool’s academy after a fee of £500,000 was deemed adequate by the Blues.
Scanlon can play as a left-back or a left-sided midfielder and could be a viable and versatile option for Jurgen Klopp’s side in years to come if the move goes through.
The youngster will be under the watchful eye of academy director Alex Inglethorpe, who has overseen the player development of the likes of Curtis Jones, Neco Williams, Rhys Williams and Caoimhin Kelleher, who have all had successful first-team stints.
Scanlon made his England U15 debut in December 2019 and is highly-rated by his parent club, but is yet to make a senior debut for Birmingham City.
Transfer Tavern Verdict
It could be another clever move from Liverpool in the transfer market, who would be following in the footsteps of Jude Bellingham, with the Englishman moving to Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Various young Reds have had first-team success under Inglethorpe’s guidance and he may be the ideal man to nurture Scanlon’s obvious talent.
It would be no surprise to see him jump at the opportunity to move to Anfield.
