Can This Spurs Failure Rekindle His Career?

'Operator, this is the call of the wild'

Kevin-Prince Boateng is that rare thing. A footballer who had a good 2010 World Cup.

The Prince was unfortunately another one of the White Hart Lane nearly men. A player who promised lots, looked the part but failed to deliver on so many levels… A move to Portsmouth showed some signs of genuine improvement. But his performances in the World Cup were excellent. He looked sharp. He looked …worth buying!

Now his agent has revealed (these sharks do more revealing in a month of horse trading than Paul Daniels did in 3 TV series) that there is not only a hiccupping interest with Serie A side Genoa, but perhaps as many as three Premiership clubs.

“A few days ago I heard that Liverpool and Everton were keen, and also Beşiktaş.Today I have read that Stoke are interested, but I know nothing about that.

“Until a few days ago there was constant dialogue and everything seemed to be coming towards a conclusion, although Portsmouth were still asking for more.

“But since then everything has reached deadlock. I don’t think everything is over, because no-one has told me that, so I suppose the interest is still there.

“We will have to wait and see what happens now over the coming days.”

“The market is slow right now, even if there are a lot of clubs interested in the player.

Boateng is an undoubtedly a talented playerand I would argue he’s one well worth another Premiership side having another go with. Of all the sides touted, it’s Everton I could realistically see him making the best impact in. Liverpool cannot afford to take any gambles this season. Stoke it has to be said, may fail to offer the player the bright lights he’s probably searching for.
