Cardiff City continue to struggle in the Premier League under Neil Warnock, and it already looks like being a relegation season for the Bluebirds.
The Welsh side have simply not got the resources of quality to compete with a lot of what is on offer in the Premier League, and manager Warnock will be hoping his board see sense and allow him to see the job through until the end rather than part ways.
However, Warnock also needs some backing, and in January he could do with being given some cash to spend on some much needed reinforcements.
The Championship is a league Warnock knows well, and he loves to delve into the market and buy the best players from there when he can.
That’s why we think he should move to sign West Brom and Scotland winger Matt Phillips, who has been brilliant for West Brom this season as they seek an immediate return to the Premier League under Darren Moore.
Cardiff are woefully short of goals and creativity, and Phillips brings both these elements to any team he plays for.
Quick, direct, and with Premier League experience, Phillips would be a superb addition for Cardiff as they look to make a fight of staying in the top flight at the very least.
