Cardiff City should look to swoop for this £2m-rated World Cup defender

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock will be raring to go in the Premier League this season after leading the Bluebirds back to the top flight.

The former Sheffield United and Crystal Palace manager will know he has a big ask on his hands to keep the Welsh side in the Premier League, and our fans here in the Tavern are looking on with bated breath to see if the club can make some quality summer additions.

Our landlord has been keeping a close eye on the World Cup this summer, and he believes he’s identified a few players who might well fit Cardiff’s budget in terms of adding to their squad.

One player who he thinks would be a superb addition for the club is current Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata, who has quietly gone about his business for Belgium this summer and played a key role when called upon.

Valued at only £2m, the former Manchester City man would be a superb addition for the Bluebirds, bringing his strength, aerial prowess, and international experience to a team which is going to need all the help it can get this coming season.

Boyata has really grown into a quality player during his time with the Bhoys, and a move back into the Premier League might well be the next logical step for him.

The Belgian would be a superb addition for the Bluebirds if Warnock can convice his current manager Brendan Rodgers to part ways.

Cardiff fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
