Cardiff City are one of the favourites for relegation in this coming Premier League season, with their squad looking relatively thin and lacking quality compared to others in the top flight.

In Neil Warnock though, the club have a manager who can get the best out of his players and it could well be that the Bluebirds surprise a few in the opening few weeks of the campaign.

A relatively quiet summer transfer window has done little to encourage Cardiff fans that they can do well in the top flight, and there is a strong sense that more signings are needed in the next two weeks to enable the Welsh club to have the best possible chance of maintaining their Premier League spot come next May.

We at the Transfer Tavern think Warnock should be looking back into the Championship for new additions, and one player we think could be a superb addition is West Brom winger Nacer Chadli.

The winger, valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, is surely too good to be plying his trade in the second tier, and he is the sort of player who Warnock would be able to get the best out of.

Chadli is someone who has always had plenty of ability and he impressed for Belgium in this summer's World Cup, ensuring any clubs watching over him were suitably impressed.

Quick, tricky with the ball, and capable of scoring the spectacular, Chadli would be a superb addition for a side like Cardiff, and could well prove the difference between staying up or not.

Cardiff fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
