‘Cash out button’ – Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter react to transfer rumour

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that Fenerbahce want to take Dutch striker, Vincent Janssen on-loan again next season according to Fanatik. The 23-year-old signed for Spurs in the summer of 2016 but suffered a goal-shy first season at White Hart Lane before being loaned to the Turkish club for the current campaign, although his time in Turkey has been cut short owing to injury.

The Tottenham fans propping our bar up can’t understand their Dutch striker. Janssen has notched seven goals in 17 caps for his country and scored an incredible 27 Eredivisie goals for AZ Alkmaar in the 2015/16 season before joining Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs. However, since making the move to London, Janssen has been a different player. The youngster seems to have struggled to adapt to life outside of The Netherlands and was deemed surplus to requirements by Spurs as he was sent out on loan whilst the North Londoners opted to sign Fernando Llorente to play back-up to Harry Kane this year.

Janssen’s loan to Fenerbahce came as a brilliant chance for the Dutchman to prove his worth to the Tottenham hierarchy, but three goals in 13 appearances before an ankle injury that will see him miss the rest of the season looks to have shattered the striker’s second chance. Our local Lilywhites all seemed convinced that Janssen would be off in the summer, although now it looks like the Istanbul club will give Janssen another shot at the Super Lig as his current season has been cut short through injury. Janssen will be hoping he can repay the faith that Fenerbahce have put into him as he tries to rekindle his career and get another shot at cracking the Spurs team upon his return.

Here’s what our resident Spurs fans make of the Vincent Janssen rumours:
