The Daily Mail have shocked the majority of punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern after they claimed that Jose Mourinho will be keeping both Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge this season.
As one of our punters notes over a pint, we had thought that one would be leaving – and that person would be Petr Cech.
However, after the first friendly on foreign soil for the Blues this summer, Mourinho claimed he wants both his keepers at the club.
The Special One noted: “To have Cech and Courtois, the best young goalkeeper in the world and one of the top three or five experienced keepers, for me and Chelsea it’s perfect.
“There’s no story. One will play and Chelsea will be in safe hands for good because both are very good players.”
We certainly think this could create a rivalry but should an injury occur like last season, at least fans will not have to worry about a dodgy back-up keeper pulling on the shirt!
Chelsea fans. Is this something that will make you happy or is it a recipe for disaster and rivalry galore next season? Let us know your thoughts below.
