Celtic in last ditch attempt to scupper Swansea’s hopes of landing former Liverpool coach

It’s been silly season North of the Border ever since Celtic announced that Ronny Deila would leaving the club at the end of the season. Don’t you just love it?

The Transfer Tavern is in overdrive as the rumour mill keeps on spinning, as yet another former Premier League boss has found himself strongly linked with the soon-to-be-vacant Parkhead post.

Though Brendan Rodgers’ name has previously been brought up in terms of who on earth could replace the Norwegian, the ex-Liverpool chief was thought to be nearing a return to Swansea City.

He left the Liberty back in 2012 in order to move to Merseyside and the Welsh outfit are understood to be wanting rid of Francesco Guidolin at the end of the season.

The vastly experienced Italian has been linked with a move to Watford should the Hornets ultimately rid of Quique Sanchez Flores.

However, Wales Online (citing reports from Scotland) suggest the Bhoys have made a sensational 11th hour bid in order to move for the 42-year old Northern Irishman.

Could Rodgers handle a club the size of Celtic? Are they attractive enough these days, considering the financial might of the Premier League?
