Our resident Manchester City fans will be delighted to hear that Scottish outfit Celtic are looking at taking another of their young players on loan, according to Sky Sports.
The Scottish champions are reportedly negotiating a deal which would take England Under-19 winger Patrick Roberts to Celtic Park this month on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Celtic have already been linked with a loan deal for another of City’s youngsters in the form of 19-year old midfielder Bersant Celina, with a loan for at least one of the attacking pair expected to be completed before the transfer window closes.
Roberts, who was signed from Fulham last summer for a fee in the region of £12 million, is considered to be an exciting young prospect.
However, our landlord believes that he is still relatively far off a place in the first-team starting lineup with the youngster having only managed 3 appearances for the club’s senior side in all competitions this term.
City supporters at the bar have been discussing how their young defender Jason Denayer greatly improved during a loan spell at Celtic last season, where he won the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year.
With these seemingly good transfer relations existing between City and Celtic, Roberts could potentially enjoy the same benefits from a loan spell as he looks to receive regular game time.
Manchester City fans, would you like to see Roberts remain in the academy or be loaned out to another team? Let us know in the comments below!
