Celtic pursue former Premier League striker as he becomes free agent

Danny GrahamCeltic fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping this forward can rediscover his previous form as their club look to offer this free agent a contract.

According to the Glasgow Evening Times, Brendan Rodgers is working hard to bring in Danny Graham after working with the forward on two occasions previously in his managerial career.

The 30-year-old striker was released by Sunderland last week after failing to fight his way into Sam Allardyce’s first-team plans for the future.

He’s had a torrid time at the Stadium of Light, as he has been sent on loan four different times, since joining the Black Cats in 2013.

But now Graham has a chance to revive his career with Scottish Premier League champions under Rodgers, who worked with him at Watford and Swansea.

It is unlikely that if Graham does arrive at Celtic Park then he would become their main man, as he is expected to be brought in as back up to last-season’s top goalscorer Leigh Griffiths.
