There have been some raised voices between the Derby County and Bournemouth fans over by the bar today after The Derby Telegraph linked both sides with a summer move for Charlie Mulgrew.
The Celtic man’s current deal is set to run out this summer and whilst our landlord expects a new contract to be offered to him, negotiations are believed to be being delayed until the managerial crisis is resolved.
Current manager Ronny Deila has already announced his departure at the end of the season, with household names Roy Keane, Martin O’Neill, Brendan Rodgers, David Moyes, Paul Lambert, Malky Mackay and Neil Lennon all linked with the position.
Uncertainty regarding the future of the club has resulted in uncertainty about Mulgrew’s future, whilst the Scottish international has accumulated 30 goals in over 200 appearances for the Scottish outfit.
The debate amongst those here in the Tavern is due to the fact that the 30-year-old is extremely experienced and versatile, as he can competently play in central midfield, central defence or at left-back.
