The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are split on whether they should keep Slaven Bilic this summer or let him go.
Some by the bar have said that Bilic has done a good job, whilst other have pointed out that West Ham have gone backwards this year.
If West Ham do decide to sack the Croatian in the summer, they were rumoured to be trading one “Super Slav” for another by looking at Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic, according to Sky Sports News.
However, the calm headed Serbian boss has come out and poured cold water on these rumours, which brought about a big cheer from the booth where some Fulham fans are gathered.
In his press conference ahead of Fulham’s vital clash with Norwich this weekend, Jokanovic dismissed the West Ham links as mere speculation.
“This is only rumours and we are now in a crucial moment of the competition and I don’t have time for thinking about different teams.
“I’m only thinking about my team and I am fully concentrated and motivated for the push with my players for fighting with the targets.
“For all the Championship coaches this can be a natural step for another things.
“I want to talk about my players, challenges in front of us.
“I have my problems and West Ham have problems to resolve in this moment, in front of them is a fantastic man and a fantastic coach and I don’t have any info they are keen for changing the manager and this info that is passed around about me in this moment is not important, it’s important what is in my head about the job that is front of us.
“I am not thinking about far future I am thinking about the immediate future and what is in front of us which is the Norwich game.
“I am absolutely committed, always, I will repeat that I have a year and a half on my contract with Fulham – I am happy with my club and I will push hard to be a Premier League coach with Fulham in the future either in a few months or a little bit longer.”
Fulham’s Head Coach recently signed a new deal with the West London club, extending his contract until summer 2019.
His man focus appears to be getting Fulham into a play-off position this season; the Cottagers are in seventh place at the moment but only trail Sheffield Wednesday by two points ahead of the run-in.
Our landlord thinks that West Ham should give Bilic another chance next season to show what he’s worth.
West Ham fans – should you stick or twist with Bilic? Who could replace him if he does get sacked?
