Despite their poor start to the season, the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are still encouraged by what the future holds.
Since Steve Walsh came in as their new Director of Football, there has been a change in approach regarding their transfer activity.
Rather than always targeting the big names, there has been an effort made to draft in the most talented young players from clubs lower down in the football league.
So far, this has included poaching the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Sheffield United, Coventry City’s Bassala Sambou, Newcastle United’s Lewis Gibson, Ademola Lookman from Charlton Athletic and more.
It now looks like they will return to Sheffield United in their attempt to prise away starlet Sam Graham, according to a report by The Liverpool Echo.
Sam Graham is considered to be one of Sheffield United’s best young players and he has a contract which runs until the summer of 2020, having recently put pen to paper on a new long-term deal.
Everton have been scouting the teenage centre-back and could make a move for him in the January transfer window.
The Toffees are keen to boost their options at the back after adding Nathangelo Markelo and Lewis Gibson to their squad recently.
