The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling pretty confident ahead of their FA Cup final clash with Arsenal, and it appears as though Cesc Fabregas is too…
As reported by the Mirror, Fabregas has opened up on the prospect of playing Arsenal in the final, describing the situation as ’emotional’. Confident that his side will win, though, the Spaniard said: “They are winning, and that’s important for them. Their belief is higher. But our belief is high [too]. Hopefully we can hurt them in the way we want”.
Fabregas certainly seems confident about the game, and with good reason. Chelsea are flying in the Premier League, having just wrapped up the title against West Brom. For his part, Fabregas has been vital – particularly since the turn of the year – with his playmaking often proving decisive for the Blues.
Of course, the Spaniard rarely featured earlier on in the campaign – but he has forced his way into Antonio Conte’s plans – and he hasn’t looked back.
Against Arsenal, he will likely be vitally important once more. The Gunners are solid defensively, and the Blues might struggle to otherwise break them down without the Spaniard.
That being said, with N’Golo Kante now fit once again, perhaps Conte may opt for his reliable partnership of Nemanja Matic and the Frenchman – leaving Fabregas out in the cold.
Whatever happens, it will be a special occasion for Fabregas.
