There is more news for Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern today as Metro report that David Luiz is no longer a transfer target for Bayern Munich.
Chelsea are considering the future of the defender who of course is reportedly not in new manager Jose Mourinho’s plans for next season.
The manager sees Luiz as more of a liability than someone he could work with and despite an impressive Confederations Cup performance, Mourinho has not changed his mind.
Bayern Munich for their part have claimed that they are not interested in the Brazilian defender and will not consider a move for him this summer – they have everything they need in their squad.
The Bavarian giants are not the only club that have shown interest in the defender however and both Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on luring the player to La Liga. Chelsea of course will ask for a significant fee for the player – thought to be in the region of £30 million
Will David Luiz remain at Stamford Bridge this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
