Now however, Metro have a claim that has diverted their attentions somewhat.
The publication claims that one of their forwards could well be in line for a summer move to La Liga, and it has not caused too many worried faces here in the tavern.
As our landlord moves over to the pool table, he admits that it could be any of the three Chelsea forwards and we doubt their fans would show much emotion.
The only thing we really would not want to see would be a new deal for any of them!
Our punters are keen to know which forward it is and we are told by our in the know landlord that it is Fernando Torres, and the club who are keen on him are Valencia.
Torres of course has a rich history in La Liga, and was a star at Atletico Madrid before his move to Liverpool – where his career went from strength to strength.
It was the £50 million move to Chelsea that saw his career stall, and despite vital goals at the Camp Nou and against Manchester City, Torres has never really been the star man we all expected he would be, for the Blues.
Is this is a possible transfer that makes sense for all parties? Let us know your thoughts below.
