Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern beer garden are concerned that they could lose another quality asset this summer after failing to give him the opportunities he feels he deserves.
TalkSport, citing quotes published in Marca, reveal that on-loan winger Christian Atsu is open to making his spell with Malaga permanent in the summer, as he struggles to make an impression upon parent club Chelsea.
“The decision does not depend on me, so I have to wait. I have not received any offers from Malaga yet. I have a contract with Chelsea but I think everything is possible in football.”
“However, I am aware that is not my decision. I am very happy here because I’m living a very positive experience. The truth is that I realised very quickly that the decision to come here was right.”
The 24-year-old has failed to make a breakthrough into the first-team at Stamford Bridge, which is a similar trend for young players at Chelsea, and that’s got our Blues supporters really concerned.
Is Atsu good enough for Chelsea’s first-team? Let us know in the comments below!
