Punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have only just gotten over the fact that long-serving Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech claimed he would be willing to leave the Blues and now according to Metro, a transfer is already in the pipeline.
The publication has claimed that Cech is already in talks with Serie A side Roma who could be keen to sign him in January.
After the Blues rejected an approach from Fulham for current third choice keeper Mark Schwarzer, we are seriously starting to consider a Chelsea side without Cech.
As our punters note, the keeper is too good to be sat on the bench and has plenty left to give, showing that with his display against Arsenal when called upon.
We are fairly sure that even Jose Mourinho would not make Cech stay to play Capital One Cup fixtures and there will certainly be no shortage of suitors for the Czech Republic international should he seriously make noises about a Blues exit.
If Cech completed a move to Roma, at least Ashley Cole would have a buddy to take selfies with!
Chelsea fans. Would Cech’s departure prove a massive loss for you or is his Stamford Bridge exit in January simply inevitable? Let us know your thoughts below.
