Chelsea ace to remain at Stamford Bridge beyond 2014/15 season?

DrogbaChelsea fans are nodding their heads here in the Football Transfer Tavern as our landlord tells them the latest gossip.

The Daily Mail seem to think that Jose Mourinho could well be set to offer Didier Drogba a new deal at Chelsea.

In the absence of Diego Costa last night, Drogba once again rolled back the years and showed just why he is one of the best players Chelsea have ever had.

The Ivorian single-handedly destroyed Tottenham Hotspur with a goal and an assist in the space of a couple of minutes in the comfortable 3-0 victory over their London rivals.

When asked about the future of the forward who is 36 years young, Mourinho made it very clear just what both he and Chelsea wanted.

The Chelsea boss gushed about his all-time favourite player and claimed: “He’s remarkable. First of all he’s a team player, after that, he’s one of these with an old days mentality,

“He’s not selfish, not vain, a humble guy who plays and fights for the team.

“Is this his last season? I don’t know. It must be his decision. He came here to stay, I want him to stay, the club want him to stay.”

Chelsea fans. Do you want to see Drogba stay at the club for a few more years yet? Do you think he could surpass Lampard’s goal scoring record? Let us know your thoughts below.
