Jose Mourinho has claimed that Chelsea have received no approaches for one of their players according to Metro.
The player in question is Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Everton and attracting rather a lot of interest from a few clubs in the Premier League.
The Blues are looking to bring two forwards in this summer, and that has lead to questions about the future of Lukaku, who has been linked with a permanent switch to both Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
Mourinho spoke about the supposed ‘approaches’ from the two sides and noted: “Have we had any approaches? No. I don’t think it’s the time to speak about it.”
He also claimed that there was a future for the former Anderlecht forward at Chelsea, despite reports to the contrary. Mourinho claimed: “Yes. he has a future. He’s contracted and a good professional. He works hard for the team and brings things to the team.
“Obviously we want him to score more goals, obviously he wants to score more goals. It’s not just me that wants that.”
Our punters think that given the links with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa, Lukaku will be very concerned over his long-term future at Chelsea, and we doubt he will be there next season.
Do you think that Lukaku will be at Chelsea next season despite the interest in the player? Should he move on to further his career? Let us know your thoughts below.
