The Daily Mail have some fantastic news for Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern, as they claim that the club have agreed a deal to sign Saint-Etienne’s Kurt Zouma.
There has been some negativity amongst the Stamford Bridge regulars after the club not only failed to beat West Ham United and capitalise on the chance Arsenal left them, but they now also look like missing out on capturing Manchester City target Eliaquim Mangala.
Now, as our landlord tries to deal with the rush that deadline day is providing here in the tavern, he notes that by getting Zouma, Mourinho is once again showing that it is the future that he is looking towards, not the past.
The young starlet has impressed so much that we reported a couple of weeks ago that Chelsea had agreed provisional terms for him, and now it seems that a £12.5 million deal is in place.
One of our punters places down his fork whilst eating an all day brunch and notes that Zouma will not be arriving this winter however.
The player will stay in France for the rest of the season and given the strong defensive pairing between John Terry and Gary Cahill, that is probably a good thing for his development.
