Slight drama is in the air here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by the Daily Express that Chelsea and Arsenal are set to do battle in the summer.
One of the best rivalries in English football looks set to spark right back up again off the field and it is all down to Nathaniel Chalobah. The player may only be 18-years-old but he is a hot property in English football and has the Gunners are eyeing the current Watford loanee – who is at Vicarage Road on a temporary basis from the Blues.
Arsene Wenger has sat up and taken notice of the defender/midfielder who has impressed for thr Hornets and is willing to make a bid for the Sierra Leone-born youngster and offer him immediate first team football next season.
Chalobah may already belong to Chelsea but like so many others has been farmed out on loan and is unsure of his future meaning that should an offer like Wenger’s come in, Chalobah may well have some thinking to do. Even if he returns to Chelsea next season a first team place may well be some way off for the England Under-21 international.
Having finally decided where his international future lies – indeed for the Three Lions, another massive decision awaits the young player.
Can Arsenal lure the impressive Chalobah to the Emirates Stadium? Rate this rumour below.
