Chelsea and Manchester City fans weren’t best pleased with the performances they watched in the Transfer Tavern last night, with both sides dropping points, and they’ve gathered around the bar stools today to discuss what needs to change.
Both sets of supporters have stated that the striking areas within their side could do with improving, so they’re pleased to see The Independent report that City and Chelsea have joined the hunt for Charlton Athletic’s Ademola Lookman.
The 18-year-old looks set to leave the Championship side this month after The Addicks made their fifth managerial change in two years, sacking Karel Fraeye after a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Huddersfield Town.
Teenage forward Lookman is widely regarded to be the best prospect in the second-tier of English football and the two Champions League clubs are keen to sign him, though they face rival interest from Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
With three goals in just seven league starts, Lookman has alerted England’s elite to his presence and a long-term stay at Charlton is unlikely as he has just 18 months remaining on his deal- and they’d be likely to accept offers of around £5m.
Our landlord believes that interest from City and Chelsea is testament to the youngster’s ability but he has stated he’d be better off making his name at a smaller club in the Premier League to begin with.
Would Ademola Lookman be a good addition for either side? Let us know in the comments below!
