Chelsea and Man City line-up move for exciting winger

After Chelsea beat the Sky Blues last weekend, the Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping to finally get one up on the Blues…

It was certainly a tale of 2 halves at the weekend, with Chelsea struggling until after half-time – whilst Man City failed to deal with the Blues’ resurgence after the break.

In the end, it was Chelsea that came out on top – as they so often have this season; but it would appear as though the battles between the pair will extend beyond the pitch as transfer season begins to heat up.

According to the Independent, both Man City and Chelsea are set to battle it out for Celtic starlet Karamoko Dembele – who has risen to prominence in recent months for his quick progress through the developmental ranks for club and country.

They note that both sides are preparing offers, with the impressive youth setup at both clubs keen to add Britain’s most sought after young player to their ranks.

Despite being just 13-years-old, Dembele has already played for Celtic under-20s and Scotland under-16s – signalling that he is a player with talent far beyond his years.

Check out just how impressive the youngster is below…

Our landlord thinks that he has a seriously bright future – and he thinks that both Chelsea and Man City would offer a perfect platform from which to develop.

Fans of a few rival clubs in the Tavern have disputed that claim however, and have pointed towards both side’s lack of player progression – with both often favouring big-money foreign talent over their own developmental system. In saying that, they have also noted that they think he should remain at Celtic as he looks to develop.

The only thing that appears clear is that Celtic will have a tough job on their hand should a bid come through from either side…
