Chelsea and Man City on alert as Spurs slap £40m price tag on in-demand star

The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern seem resigned to losing Kyle Walker.

They have been criticising his latest performances and noting that he is playing like his mind is elsewhere.

“Get in Dani Alves”, cried one Spurs fan from their booth in the Transfer Tavern while another was heard saying “Kieran Tripper is ready to step up”.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sell Kyle Walker as long as their valuation is matched.

Spurs have slapped a £40m price tag on the speedy right back with Chelsea and Manchester City now set to fight it out for his signature this summer.

Man City are preparing for the departures of Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna which open the door to Kyle Walker’s arrival.

Chelsea are also interested with the England international being a perfect fit to play as a right wing back in their 3-4-3 formation.

Mauricio Pochettino is keen to keep his stars this summer to build on their second place finish in the Premier League but is willing to let Walker go.

The 26-year-old has played well over 200 games since joining in 2009 from Sheffield United.
