Chelsea and Man City suffer serious blow in pursuit of lethal forward

The Chelsea and Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are not happy about this…

Despite having two of the most deadly strikers in the Premier League, both Chelsea and Man City have consistently been linked with Bundesliga ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in recent weeks.

Numerous reports have touted the £65m-rated forward with a move to the big-spending Premier League giants, but as of yet – no concrete news has emerged.

However, whilst both City and Chelsea have seemingly not had any positive murmurings from the Dortmund camp, Real Madrid have – and the news could come as a crushing blow to the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern.

According to Sky Sports, Dortmund have opened the door on a deal between Aubameyang and Madrid.

Speaking ahead of Dortmund’s latest Champions League clash chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke said: “If Real Madrid come in, we will talk”

However, importantly, he did add: “We want him to stay with us…There’s no pressure. I don’t have the impression he wants to move.”

Whilst this does not appear to be a committal to deal between the clubs, he has most definitely invited Real Madrid’s interest.

Significantly, there appears to be no mention of Chelsea or Man City, so our landlord is assuming that a deal towards the Premier League is highly unlikely.

This is a huge blow, as Aubameyang has been in deadly form in recent months. He has already bagged 6 league goals so far this year, in addition to the 25 that he bagged last season.

He has turned into one of the most prolific forwards in Europe – and Chelsea and Man City will no doubt be disappointed to learn that a deal appears unlikely.
