With Manchester United and Chelsea set to go head to head today in a crunch Premier League tie, all eyes will be on Stamford Bridge to see who takes the spoils in a blockbuster of a tie.
United have begun the season the better of the two, but Chelsea are still looking strong, and despite a heavy midweek loss in Europe, Antonio Conte’s men will be looking to bounce back and get their season rolling before the international break.
Our landlord here at the Tavern is looking forward to the game and welcoming in both sets of fans, but this week he’s been doing a bit of scouting across the European games, and he thinks both the Blues and Red Devils would be wise to move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The young German is harbouring quite the reputation for himself this season, banging in the goals and making an impact in the national team too. He looks another classy operator to come from the Bundesliga, joining a whole host of excellent young players to emerge in recent years.
Werner has bags of ability, can finish, and is young enough to develop further into one of the game’s top forwards.
Chelsea and United are always on the lookout for top players, and Werner fits the mould perfectly. It would be little surprise to see them go head to head in January to try and sign Werner, giving them a striking option they can rely upon for years to come.
United and Chelsea fans, what do you make of Werner? Good signing? Let us know!Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
