Chelsea and Man Utd could miss out on summer deal as player reportedly makes major decision

Alvaro Morata is one of Europe’s top players, and so the Man Utd and Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been celebrating recent reports that the clubs are keen on the Spaniard…

However, it seems as though their hopes of securing the striker have taken a hit, with Gazzetta Dello Sport reporting that Morata has grown tired of the lack of movement from Chelsea and Man Utd – with the Spaniard instead reportedly now ready to make a move to Milan. It is noted that Morata is ready to accept a salary offer from Milan, and whilst the Italian outfit will still need to negotiate with Real Madrid, it seems as though they are now leading the race for Morata.

Given that both Chelsea and Man Utd have recognised their need to reinforce offensively for quite a while, it certainly makes you wonder why Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho have left it this late to make a move for Morata.

For the Spaniard’s part, his 15 goals in La Liga this year have clearly attracted some interest, but with a lack of game time in Spain, a move away certainly makes sense.

Our landlord thinks that Chelsea, in particular, need to make their move – as Morata would suit their side, and particularly Antonio Conte, perfectly. The Blues are going to have to be on top form to continue their fine Premier League form next season, and a player like Morata could be just what they need to do that.
