Both the Chelsea and Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are waiting feverishly for their side’s to get some spending done this summer…
Man Utd recently secured the signing of Victor Lindelof, though very little action has followed, whilst Chelsea are yet to make any investment so far this year.
Indeed, both clubs are in desperate need of improvement, and according to Calcio Mercato, there is at least a chance that they could get it in the midfield. Calcio Mercato are reporting that both Chelsea and Man Utd are interested in a move for Radja Nainggolan of AS Roma. Significantly, it is said that the Italian side may be willing to sell him this summer, with a fee of around €50 million (£43.7 million) perhaps enough to tempt the club into selling.
Whilst any deal remains some way off, and indeed it remains to be seen whether Roma will do all they can to hold on to him, this has certainly generated a bit of excitement amongst supporters in the Transfer Tavern. For his part, Nainggolan is arguably one of the finest players in Italy at present, with the Belgian midfielder impressing for Roma. Delivering aggression, technical skill and a goal threat, he is arguably the complete midfielder and is perfect for the Premier League.
With Mourinho likely searching for a midfield partner for Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera, and Conte looking for a new player to partner N’Golo Kante, it would certainly make sense for each side to keep an eye out to see what happens with the Belgian.
