Chelsea approach Premier League manager for vacant position

pochettinooChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have seen their side anger rival supporters in the bar, with the Tottenham Hotspur continent moping in the corner after hearing some concerning reports.

The Sunday Times reports that Chelsea directly approached Mauricio Pochettino, manager of their London rivals, to discuss the possibility of the Argentine manager moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Pochettino impressed in his initial spell in England with Southampton but it’s in north London where he has found his feet, leading Spurs to a shock charge for the Premier League title- which gives them the chance of their first league honour since 1962.

However, Spurs are at risk of losing their boss with a number of top sides in the market for managers this summer- and Chelsea made the approach towards Pochettino late last month.

The Argentine joins the likes of Italy boss Antonio Conte and Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone on Chelsea’s shortlist, though our landlord would favour Pochettino in the role due to his experiences of English football.
