Chelsea are reportedly keen on securing a deal for 2-time UCL winner

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty excited by recent reports emanating from Marca

According to the Spanish publication, Chelsea are amongst the sides to have enquired about the availability of Real Madrid defender Pepe – with the Blues seemingly keen to secure a deal for the player upon the expiry of his contract this summer.

Indeed, with Chelsea looking to solidify their position at the top of the English pyramid, Pepe is just the sort of player they need. Combative, strong, experienced, versatile – Pepe has all the traits of a top defender.

Of course, his long-term stay at Real Madrid has been fruitful, with a host of trophies and medals around his neck – with two Champions League trophies of particular note.

He is no longer a young player – indeed he is already 34-years-old – but with age comes experience, and with Chelsea likely to be on a mission to retain their title next year, experience could be key. With John Terry’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Pepe’s experience could be key.

Chelsea fans – should the Blues sign Pepe?
