The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are always excited when their side are linked with a top youth star, and if the Mirror is to be believed, the Blues have found their next target…
The Mirror are reporting that Chelsea are leading the race for Hamburg youngster Jann-Fiete Arp – who has scored 26 goals for the German outfit’s youth side so far this year.
Impressive both domestically and internationally, Arp is reportedly courting a lot of interest – though it appears as though Chelsea are leading the race.
Of course, should Chelsea seal the deal, Arp would join what is arguably one of Europe’s most fruitful developmental systems. Whilst they are rarely given an opportunity in the Blues’ first team, the Chelsea developmental teams have won a plethora of trophies in recent years – highlighting how efficient the system is at developing young talent.
That being said, our landlord thinks that the striker could get lost in the shuffle at Stamford Bridge, given the vast depth within the Chelsea youth ranks.
The striker reportedly models his game on Harry Kane, and that is certainly reflected in his form this year. Lethal just like the Tottenham forward, the Blues would be wise to seal this deal quickly.
