Eyes have been drawn away from the TV screens here at the Football Transfer Tavern as it has been claimed that Chelsea and Arsenal have thrown their hat into the race for Christian Eriksen or so GiveMeFootball suggest.
The London clubs have decided that they want to enter the race for the Danish international and that will not come as welcome news to Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers who are as we all know by now rather keen on the young player.
Eriksen has told Ajax that his time at the Amsterdam Arena is coming to an end and a greater challenge is needed meaning he will be sold in the summer before his contract expires in the summer of 2015. Chelsea are believed to see the player as a replacement for Frank Lampard who has reached 200 goals for the club and is only two away from the all time Bobby Tambling record.
Eriksen is only 21 years of age and has impressed more than enough to warrant a whole host of clubs vying for his signature and given that Sir Alex Ferguson has also been linked to him in the past, one would feel that the links surrounding the midfielder are not set to go away any time soon.
Who can land Eriksen in this alleged three way pursuit? Rate this rumour below.
