Top European clubs Chelsea, Real Madrid, Juventus and Inter are set to face a 4 way scrap for highly rated Anderlecht youngster Romelu Lukaku.
The 17-year-old is one of the most sought after players in Europe following an astounding debut season in Belgium in which he netted 19 times at the tender age of 16.
However, Anderlecht are determined to fight to keep their star player and have valued the Belgian at a minimum of £16.75million.
Sporting director Herman van Holsbeck has outlined the clubs valuation of the player in a bid to detract attention from the striking prodigy.
“We will immediately turn down any offers in the region of €20m. We want to receive more money for Lukaku, way more” said van Holsbeck to Het Nieuwsblad.
“It’s not like clubs are calling us about Romelu on a daily basis. That’s also because there are only 15 clubs or so that have the financial resources to meet our demands.
“Romelu has already told us that he doesn’t want to leave in January. We’ll discuss his situation again in the summer of 2011. We’re not in a rush to cash in on him though. We’d be more than happy to keep Lukaku at the club for a few more years.”
