The Italian’s current deal in west London is set to expire in 2022, though the Blues are allegedly keen on extending that until 2024, should the player be happy committing two more years to the club.
Sport Witness reports that Serie A champions Juventus are keen on bringing the 25-year-old to Turin, with club director Fabio Paratici thought to be a long-term admirer of the defender.
Current Juve boss Maurizio Sarri, who managed Palmieri last season whilst in charge of Chelsea, is also a big fan of the left-back and is thought to be keen on acquiring his services next summer.
Emerson began this season promisingly by starting the Blues’ opening four Premier League fixtures ahead of Marcos Alonso, but has only seen 15 minutes of action since mid-September – during the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool – due to picking up a hamstring injury.
When he returns to fitness, he may have a battle on his hands to break back into the first team, as Alonso has impressed for the Blues in recent weeks by assisting two goals in his previous four league outings, per Transfermarkt.
Emerson faces a tough decision regarding his future if the rumoured interest from Juventus comes to fruition next year.
It goes without saying what an attractive proposition playing for the biggest club in his homeland could be for the Italian, for a side who continually find themselves strong favourites for the league title each season.
He has only just started to force his way into the regular first-team fold at Stamford Bridge, however, with manager Frank Lampard clearly a big fan of his due to his consistent involvement at the start of the campaign before he suffered an injury.
With that in mind, perhaps staying to fight for his shirt in west London could yet be the best option for Emerson at this stage of his career.
