Chelsea boss admits fifth summer signing is close

Didier DrogbaChelsea fans are looking up with an unbelievable interest in the latest claim coming from BBC Sport who seem to think that Jose Mourinho has admitted just how much he wants a former player back at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho was asked about the rumours surrounding Didier Drogba and a potential return to the club and made it clear that he is certainly considering it.

The Chelsea boss made it clear that Drogba would be brought back if the Blues felt he could add to the team, and not just for emotional reasons.

Mourinho claimed: “If I bring him back, and the decision has to be made soon, it is because as a player he has qualities to make the team stronger,

“Because we know his heart is pushing him to where he feels he belongs, we are thinking about the possibility [of a deal]. We feel that Didier belongs to us.”

Given there is actual interest in Fernando Torres and as one of our punters points out, even if there was not, the forward would hardly contribute next season anyway.

We feel Drogba could help shoulder some of the burden alongside Diego Costa and that he could push the West London club onto the title.

The Blues have brought in Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, Mario Pasailic and Filipe Luis so far this summer.

Chelsea fans. Do you think a return for Drogba is the right way to go or is Mourinho letting his emotions get the better of him? Let us know your thoughts below.
